Ok i submitted my penn stuff on 18th and they got it that day too. well its close enough to the 15th so i am expecting to have an interview but unfortunately no emails/ responses for interview yet, who all at cc have got the interview invitation and anyone yet who submitted it before the 15th and still hasnt been called?

Moreover, my penn applicant portal still says counselor recommendation and sat scores not received. anybody else's saying the same?

I submitted mine on the 15th as well and haven’t been called for an interview. Did we have to indicate that we wanted one? and I also have the same problem with outstanding materials even though everything has been sent but I think that’s normal.

vanillasky- No. It was just suggested that applicants apply by the 15th to maximize chances of an interview. You could still very well get one. It kind of depends on where you live.

hmmm i applied the 26th, or maybe the 27th? It was around 11ish or midnight I can’t remember… and I got my interview the following week! It’s scheduled for this weekend actually, I think it depends on the availibility of alumni around you is all.

I sent my application in on the 21st and got one about a week later. I wasn’t super expecting it but I hoped I would and I’m really glad I did. It turns out I have somewhat of a connection with my interviewer.

I sent in my app. the 24th and didn’t get my Penn Portal login until one week later. I do have an interview scheduled for this Monday though - but I think soccerrrgal is right, it all depends where you live. I live an hour outside Philly, so we’ve got tons of available alumni. If you live in Nebraska or something of the sort you’ll have a tougher time getting an interview quickly.

raffles- My guess is that he has a lowered chance of getting an interview (since Penn asked applicants to apply by the 15th to maximize their chances…), but I’ve always heard that not getting an interview will NOT hurt a student’s chances. However, turning down an interview sure might.

Strange. I sent in my app on the on Oct 29th/30th (around midnight) and I just got an email from an alumni asking to schedule an interview…didnt even know i was going to have to do one, im not very experienced at them…

interviews really depend on where you live. if you live around penn where there are most likely alot of alumnis then you will be immediatly contacted. (i live in nj and was emailed almost the day after i submitted common app)

I submitted on 29th after waiting for my sat mark… the interviewer e-mailed me today at noon asking if I could make the interview tomorrow at 7pm… reading up on penn as much as possible during past hours… :S
btw got my portal id quite quickly - n fyi, live in toronto, canada

Do not stress over interviews! They are clearly optional depending on how many alumni in your area are available. Many people get into Penn without ever having an interview.
