Interviews closed?

When I called the alumni association a few days ago, they said they'd closed the alumni interviews for this year. I'm wondering why they would close it so early when their website says they go until mid-January? And did this happen to anyone else too?

I’m not sure about the mid-January detail, but when I talked to my area’s admissions officer back in October, he said that you would need to submit your Pre-App Data Sheet and fee by mid-November to get an interview. He said that even at that time (I talked to him in late October), they were getting lots of interview requests and that time was running out.

Alright, thanks. I actually submitted mine back in mid-October, but for some reason requesting an interview didn’t really occur to me. But I was told it wouldn’t really hurt me, so I guess it’s okay.

Hmm that’s odd…I submitted my Pre-App and fee at the beginning of November and didn’t think to request an interview, but I still got an email for one. Don’t worry about it, though - it won’t hurt you at all.

Really? Yeah, I was waiting for the email because I thought they’d contact me first. Maybe there aren’t a lot of alumni around here.

And yeah, they at least made a note that I called to request one. (:

the interviews aren’t for admittance purposes. They are more a chance for them to prove why you should go to Wash U.
