Interviews!

Now, that most ED apps are done/almost done, lets talk about the next part of the college application process.

For those who already attend UPenn, how many ED acceptees were interviewed?

Does applying ED increase your chances or decrease your chances of being interviewed?

On average, what percentage of ED applicants are interviewed? What percent of applicants, period, are interviewed?

Basically what I’m trying to ask is, what are the chances I’ll be interviewed =)

(I’m applying ED to Wharton)

whether or not ull b interviewed depends on how many alums are in ur area and how involved the alums are.

I just got called for an interview today! Yay! I had been hoping for one like crazy......

It's November 8th at a starbucks. Now I have to start being nervous about the interview and what I should wear and what I should say.....I guess the college tension never ends.

Good luck to everyone else who has an interview or is hoping for one.

I thought they didn't start reading the applications until mid-November? Why are people already getting interviews?

I think the admissions office assigns interviews using the information you submitted for part 1.

Mine is at Starbucks too! How should we be dressed for interviews? Casual? Polo shirt? Shirt and tie?

I asked this question on another thread, lol.

The general consensus seems to be that you can't go wrong with khakis and a polo shirt for guys. For girls, a skirt with a nice sweater, or pants with a blazer work fine. In essence, look and smell good, and dress up a little more than usual. A business suit with pearls is unecessary, but a nice sweater set, or skirt is appropriate.

Good Luck!

Khakis it is, then.

mine is at nov 19 at a law firm. I was told to bring a copy of my application and resume too.

mine is nov 8 and the woman is coming to my school to do it during my frees, but she didn't tell me to bring anything...do u guys think i need to bring anything?

probably not; they usually specify what they'd like you to bring.

Mine is on November 8th as well. Good Luck;)

thanks! u too! let me know how your's goes

helix: haha this is random but i was looking at ur info, we have the same b-day

mine was yesterday, went well, she liked me alot and we talked for over an hour

CMH22888, I see that now from looking at your username! Should have figured it out sooner, I suppose. Now you can count on at least one person that won't forget to wish you Happy Birthday;)

brhchs06, glad it went well for you:) Do you have any tips for the rest of us?

My French teacher does interviews in my area, but since she wrote my formal rec, she's not allowed to give me one herself. She told me that if I don't get an interview she can call and arrange one for me? Hmm..

How much weight is placed on the interview? For Wharton?

i still dont have one!!!
do u need to send off all the application to get one or just after form 1a?

Helix (and everyone else) - relax and just act natural. "Preparing" for an interview is the same regardless of the situation. Think of some answers to have in the back of your mind for possible questions, do a little research on the interviewee's company (in this case, uPenn, but normally it will be a company) so you can ask good questions and show you've taken some interest, and once again, act natural, lighten up.
