Interviews

Kinda bummed I requested an interview with Pomona over a week ago and they have now come back to me and said they are unable to fulfill due to a lack of Alums available to interview in my area?. What does one do..? I guess I could try to get to campus (in the next 4 weeks) and request an on-campus interview, any thoughts..? Since I have already met at my High School with the Adcon for the region and attended at least one other off-campus Meet and Greet this year and last, I hope I have shown 'interest', not sure what else I can do..?

If it wont make or break you, don’t bother. A positive interview report is only a small boost to your application. It only helps if two similar applicants are on the bubble then the interview may be the tie breaker. If you are on the bottom of the profile of admitted students then it probably won’t mean much. Interviews are more for those in the middle of the profile.

Englishman - sorry to hear that you couldn’t get an interview. If you really feel that an interview would help your app, then you could consider having one on campus; however, note that Admissions recommends requesting an interview as early in the academic year as possible. Not having an interview will not be held against you, but having an interview can only help provide a fuller picture of you as a potential Pomona student.

Good luck!
