How much weight do schools put on interviews? For example, Wesleyan- I am 3rd in my class, have good ECs, and have a 640 on CR, 690 on Math and 630 on writings, 1960 total. I got a 780 on US History SAT II and a 640 on MATH 1. My teacher recommendations should be pretty good and so too should my essays. Do interviews help/hurt you? I don't imagine I'd be particularly good at interviewing, not necessarily bad, but not really good either. I've never done an interview either. I wasn't really planning on it.

Also, I heard applying ED made it more difficult to get in... Is this true? I won't be able to apply ED, because I told my teachers and such that I wasn't so they won't be writing my recs right away.

Any suggestions/help to get me into Wesleyan?

The weight of interviews depends on the school. Look at the school's common data set, which may be in the thread pinned at the top of one of the CC general college info boards, possibly this one or the one before this oen.

You also can check out the US News Premium college web site, which provides that info if you pay $15 to access it until next Aug.

Although interviews are not a required part of the application process, they are highly recommended. Interviews at Wesleyan are evaluative, play a role in the admission process, and are a valuable opportunity for an exchange of information about both the candidate and the University. Interviews are available on campus or in a student's selected area through our network of alumni interviewers. Campus interviews are conducted by admission deans and senior interviewers.

I agree - be yourself. But also show that you have researched the school. Be knowledgeable about it, and be prepared to answer the "Why Wesleyan" question. And have some questions prepared - questions that you cannot find answered on their website.
