<p>Sure, that matters. But so does the quality of your answers. If you’re confident and spouting BS, then that’s not good either.</p>

<p>And no, not everyone gets interviews. The alumni choose whether to interview someone or not–so the limiting factor is an alum, not the applicant. Theoretically, with enough time and alumni and means of travel, every applicant could get interviewed.</p>

<p>I just got my email on Monday and had my interview tonight! My interviewer was really young and nice. I think it went very well. She seemed really excited about Columbia and answered a lot of questions and told me some stories of her time there. </p>

<p>I was worried that I wouldn’t get an interview because I live in a relatively suburban part of Missouri - about 45 minutes from downtown St. Louis - but I did and the drive was well worth the interview!</p>

<p>I had my interview, and it was awesome as well! Went off really great :)</p>
