<p>Sure, that matters. But so does the quality of your answers. If you're confident and spouting BS, then that's not good either.</p>
<p>And no, not everyone gets interviews. The alumni choose whether to interview someone or not--so the limiting factor is an alum, not the applicant. Theoretically, with enough time and alumni and means of travel, every applicant could get interviewed.</p>
<p>I just got my email on Monday and had my interview tonight! My interviewer was really young and nice. I think it went very well. She seemed really excited about Columbia and answered a lot of questions and told me some stories of her time there. </p>
<p>I was worried that I wouldn't get an interview because I live in a relatively suburban part of Missouri - about 45 minutes from downtown St. Louis - but I did and the drive was well worth the interview!</p>
