Interviews

CMU is definitely in my top 3 schools.

I was wondering if they offered interviews, and if so, do they hold any importance in the application process?

And how can I schedule one?

With all due respect, CC doesn’t do your homework for you. You need to go to CMU admissions page and better familiarize yourself with the admissions process and how to schedule an interview.

If you have specific questions about the interviews at CMU, everyone here would be happy to help you. Interviews at CMU are like anyplace else in their relative importance- they aren’t going to get you admitted nor denied-- it’s an informal opportunity to tell more about yourself and passion for any particular school and to ask questions you might have that are NOT already answered on the school’s webpage.

Why is CMU one of your top 3 schools?

I’ve always wanted to go to the Mellon School of Science.

And I wasn’t trying to get anyone to do my homework, it just didn’t mention much on their website, but I’ll go ahead and call tomorrow.

Wow -_-. Click the second link on this page. [Let me google that for you](LMGTFY - Let Me Google That For You)

I can’t pull up links now (besides, their website is fairly logical to navigate), but they do alumni interviews, hometown interviews, and on-campus interviews. Alumni interview signups should be opening up in a few weeks. Hometown interviews…you meet with an adcom member that is visiting a nearby city (I met with one man about two weeks ago for an informal, mostly informational meeting) for a half-hour timeslot. Signups may be over by now, but you should check.

The interview I did was pretty casual and relaxed, and really helpful for getting a feel of campus & Pittsburgh culture, which was what I was interested in learning about.
