Hi, I am an international student and I got a rejection letter from Mcgill yesterday saying my academic standard not met.
But I hear people with lower scores from the same background get admitted, what’s wrong?
I’ve already send the AO an appeal letter but they say the chances of getting reconsidered are around 1%.
So disappointed, maintaining high scores for all three years finally only get me rejected.
If your average grade is a 98, then I am suspecting that there is something else that you are not telling us.
Overall, how do your grades compared with others from your high school? Are you a high school student and if so what grade are you in?
Did you do the TOEFL? If so, what was your score?
What are your SAT scores?
Where are you from?
Thank you for replying.
Here’s my condition.
I ranked 1/2200 in high school.Already graduated and now I’m in my gap year.
My IELTS test overall 7.5 L8 R8.5 W6.5 S6.0
I am from China and applied through Chinese system. My Gaokao (College Entrance Exam) score is 617 and ranked 130/150000 in my province.
Actually, my scores seem to be quite competitive when comparing with other Chinese applicants.I’m gonna call service point and ask them directly maybe that’s more effective.
Did you apply before the deadline?
Yes it seems strange.
Did you take the courses required for your chosen major? Was there an issue with verifying your documents?
MYOS1634 Yes of course ,or they won’t even bother to reject me.
TomSrOfBoston I think I did. I have math bio chem phys that are needed in high school.
Documents should be fine. But it occurred to me that when I uploaded them, I was asked to compress the files, maybe the pictures indicating my grades are not so clear after compressing? Just a thought. Maybe not. They didn’t say anything about my documents
