crazy... 7 languages!!! Have you taken yer SATII's in those? or do you just know them but not well enough to speak fluently..

I'm curious about your country's education systems. Is it similar to American system?
As for Korea, our first semester starts in spring and the second semester starts in fall.
I've just got out of school yesterday, by the way. We're already on winter break~ yeah!!! :) (Well, we're practically over with high school.)
I can't wait till I get into college next fall~~!

Howdy again... Well seeing as everyone here seems to speak Korean i think i'll make it my 8th language. Don't know if it'll go down well in Wisconsin today but the game should be awesome. Everything was ok witih break out plan if any of you were wondering. O by the way to he who said that there aren't many french people in the forum except Giggsoy. Well I speak french and i lived in france, ate the cheese and drank the wine. Makes u intelligent indeed!
Answer to tlqfk2002: I know em well and fluent in the 7 languages. However, economic restrictions made it that i only took 5. (800 in all)

Hello,
I'm Bogdan and I'm from Romania. I'm 19 now and applied ED to Bates.I Hope the decision is positive! As for SATs, 1580 and 300 TOEFL. I only speak five languages, and not all fluently: Romanian, English, German, Italian and Arabic. Turkish is my sixth.
Cheers!

aaaaaaah!!!

Hey Bogdan! your name means godday or godgiven. right? i'm curious about the romanian educational system. Can you enlighten me plz? By da way, i for one am Croatian. But it sure is fine up here in Green Bay.

Yes, indeed Bogdan means, from my knowledge, "gift from God". It is a slavic name, and one can find it all over Eastern Europe.
The Romanian education system is both outstanding and appaling. If you are talking about the secondary-school system, I can say that it is one of the best in the World at preparing kids for an American college. Besides that, the curricula is way too theoretical to serve the economy, and teaching is not very alluring as a profession.
As an outline, in Romania you go to highschool from the 9th to the 12th grade (age 14 to 18). The high-school is differentiated in departments, which have different curriculas - I finished intensive computer-science, for instance. Everyone has to take a national examination, the Bacalaureat, which is like British A-levels or German Abitur.
Do you happen to know a guy in Yale, named Hrvoe Ostrich? He should be 2nd year now.

bogdan, i think i'll stick to my onomatopoeias: :)

whooooooa!

Hey, which city/highschool are you from, Pavalon?
I'm from Ploiesti.

asbereth, IWU stands for Illinois Wesleyan University. It's a liberal arts college in Bloomington IL. I love it so far here.

hey Bogdan, i'm from Bucuresti, T.Vianu hs. And might i just add that ma simt absolut ciudat sa vorim in engleza, asa ca o sa continui in romana :D.

I am a French girl who is living right now in Ohio (blech). I've lived in Asia and other places in the US, and speak French, English and bits of some Asian languages.

My best SAT is 1340 which I thought was pretty decent until I found this site. I have no ivy-league ambition, rather I would like to attend Bryn Mawr (I applied ED) or Wellesley.

I play the violin and considered a career in music for quite some time, but now I realize that I would rather pursue a career in International Relations with a major in that area as well as French.

I want to go to school in the US or Canada, and to grad school in the US or UK and graduate with my doctorate and live in Europe or Asia.

pavalon: ya those people with their ONLY 5 languages =.=
wolfstarslasher: ya normaly 1340 is a pretty decent marks, just not that decent at this place =.=

wow, you guys are so amazing. I'm really nothing.
Well, my name is Ly. I'm from Vietnam. I only took each SAT once and my scores are: 620 V, 790 M (1410 composite) and 780 SAT Math IIC, 760 Physics and 660 Writing. (I wanna cry when I see all the 800 numbers). I think I have wanted to go to the US since I was in grade 7. I don't remember why.
Other information: I don't know any foreign languages besides English. I have no distinctive achievements or talents. I'm not the brightest student in my current school, though I'm a leader in the student government.
Nice to know all of you. I wish I could meet all you intelligent guys someday. (Just a wish)
