I am an applicant from Panama. I speak 3 languages fluently, other 2 languages at an intermediate level and I can understand Portuguese although I do not speak it. My SATs are horrible, but still I am applying to some top LACs.

hey meder, go for it. Ya know, i may not have achieved valedictorian of socioecological nations treaty organisation or space cadet of the year or Croatian honoral citizen of the decade, but i know what i know and what i believe. I know what i can do and therefore i too will apply to mit cos theres nothing to lose and i seriosuly believe that well, its all good. Angry that Green Bay lost though.

Hi everyone! I'm a Korean, and I applied for harvard EA...well I desperately hope they would like me! I got 1570 sat1, and 800s sat2. And, I am freaking over with my third language, not only fifth, not seventh, but just third :( I've always believed me to be a physicist, but recently it began to move, so I wanted to learn something new other than english and korean. Hey, how can a person speak so many languages fluently? Is these multiliguals living somewhere near UN or something? parents speaking different languages from each other and from all the villagers?

meder, why do you not have a score for satII writing? I'm most certain that MIT requires them for intel's

is there anyone from china?
ok i'm chinese, but i've lived in the US and Singapore for quite a while before. actually i'm studying in singapore on a scholarship right now.

i've applied to yale EA and am waiting for the final decision. ARGH!!!!!!!!

Actually, you may replace the writing score with TOEFL if you're an international student.

giggsoy - are you a man u fan? Just guessing coz of 'giggs' being a player and all, but i wouldn't be surprised if your username means something else.

Hey Buzz_4! MIT rules. You read blogs? they are great!
Actually, there is somethin to loose when applyin to MIT: those 65 dollars. I can go and watch "Forgotten" 65 times for that money. Anyway that worth it!

Hey NoFX! there are two choices for internationals at MIT: one for English native-speakers (SATI, 3 SATII's) and another for non-native speakers (TOEFL and 2 SATII's). I've chosen second one and that's great/ cos my SAT I isn't very impressive.

REGARDS!

Hi vanillace! I've also applied to Yale EA. I think they will change their OnlineDecisions page on 12/15, cos' right now it redirects me to the activation page, even though I've already activated my account!
Good Luck with your Decision!

hey Meder, i was thinking the same about the 65 dollars only in terms of ben n Jerrys phish food. Nyam! Too bad internationals can't apply early decision to MIT. by da way, your school system sounds real impressive. But don't you get to keep a general oveview of all te subjects?

Hey guys,
I was wondering whether u can replace SAT II Writing with TOEFL for Yale.....or is it just MIT?

wow that's really nice of MIT.

bellicious: sorry, no

Hey Buzz_4, well, what can I say of our school system. Actually, we have to go to all the lessons and we don't have any democracy here as in US. There, people choose what to study, here - NO. But my school goes somewhat over it. It allows us to study what we want only if we can contribute something (in my case that was a Silver Medal from an Intl. olympiad). The only thing that I have to do is to pass the exams in History, Language, Science, Math and some other socials. I guess you heard about the Russian educational System, our is kinda similar.

About the MIT's testing choises: that is one of the strongest points of MIT for Intls. I think, there're no analogs.

you wanna see my city olympiad problems?

Well in case anyone is interested to know: the thrusters on the space shuttle burn monomethyl hydrazene and nitrogen tetroxide. Told my interviewer at the interview today and he was real happy. :D:D:D:D:D:D

Are you sure you don't mean monomethyl hydrazine with the chemical formula CH3NHNH2 (i think...). Anyway I have my Oxford interview on Monday even though Harvard is my first choice. And on Monday, we get the ED/EA results!!

oh no. It's Wednesday...
