Intramural sports at UT?

How competitive are intramural sports at UT? Playing intramural sports seems like a great way to meet new people as freshmen, but do you have to be really good to play on a intramural team? I've always been into sports and have played sports up until middle school, but I haven't been on any sports teams in high school. I'm mainly interested in flag football, basketball, and soccer.

There are A, B, and C class teams. A is competitive and C is just random guys on a team having some fun. You could try a C team one year and then do B the next year if C wasn’t competitive enough.

What would you say the average skill levels in each of the ABC is?

Would C be never played the sport before, have trouble catching the football?

Would B Be similar to playing against a High School JV Team?

Would A be similar to a varsity football game?

I played Varsity WR/RB for Two Years in High school and I was wondering which division would be right for me? I Am 5’11" 150 and Run a 4.6 40.

^ For you I would suggest playing “A”.

It can depend on some of the ratings. The C teams tend to be a lot of student orgs who just have random people show up, no practices, no real planning. But usually only people show up if they are kinda decent (at least, for just playing for fun) and know the rules, etc.

I know A is the most competitive, and I guess B is just somewhere in the middle.

Thanks, I just don’t wanna get on a too competitive team where I won’t be able to start.

Who wants to start a B basketball team???
