So I'm not sure if I should take chem 110 or chem 142. I've only had chem for one semester in high school back in 10th grade. I've had B-/C+ in my math classes. I don't really remember anything in chem. I feel like chem 110 would allow me to have a good foundation for doing basic chemistry. However I also heard that chem 110 is a weed-out class and is harder than chem 142. Can anyone give some input to this?

Thank you!

It'd also help if anyone here has taken chem 110 or chem 142 before.

Based on your experience as indicated here I suggest you ask your advisor which class is the gen ed chemistry class for people who are more into how science applies to current issues not the first class in a sequence for the major or in preparation for a science major. An ‘issues in science’ class is NEVER a weed out class

I decided to take Chem 110 because I haven’t had chemistry in awhile and because I’ve read here that Chem 142 is the weed out class. That makes more sense to me.
