What do I have to do to become one?

All input gradually appreciated.

I would answer your question but this has been ask on numerous occasions. Use the search option. You will find a ton of information

I did, but i couldn't find any results.. Could you link me a few threads about this?

I'm too lazy to do that right now, and even though, this has been discussed ad nauseam, I will give you a brief overview

Preferably attend a target school

Attain a minimum 3.5 GPA

Participate in interesting ECs that demonstrate your teamwork and analytical skills

Network like crazy

Aim to get a IB summer internship the summer after your junior year and get a FT offer

And most importantly pray because a lot of it comes down to luck

I don't think you have any idea what an "investmant banking" is or does, so why do you want to become one?

Majayiduke, why do you even help him/her? He/she obviously didn't bother to look it up. The lack of work ethic will be detrimental to him/her, not only as a prospective financier, but in life.

Guys, what is your problem?

No need to get so ****y.

It was just a question i wanted to know.

p-izzle, I hope that English is not your first language.

And i hope your period only last a week.

And I hope that someday you'll get promoted to manager at McDonald's. Maybe then you could design an LBO model for the White Castle down the street, because that's the closest you'll ever get to investment banking.

lol. Not many will understand the joke nodnard, but funny nevertheless.

p-izzle, you won't ever get into Investment Banking, so don't worry about it!

Hahahahaha - nodnard just owned this thread.

But seriously, p-izzle, if you really want to learn about i-banking then you're on the wrong forum. Go to www.ibankingoasis.com. There you can read posts from people actually in the industry. But before you do anything relating to i-banking itself, go and read the Vault Guide to Investment Banking (it will give you a general overview). Also read Monkey Business (it's funny and you may pick up a thing or two about the way i-bankers work, although it is definitely exaggerated).

why is everyone so hostile? is ibanking really that impossible?

p-izzle, i say you should go for it.

It's not that we're saying i-banking is really that difficult. Making fancy little BS spews on a nice excel chart, modifying results to make something "fit," isn't exact rocket-science. But lies such as, "i tried the search button and didn't find anything" are pure lies. The honesty is, you don't even need to use the search button. Every other thread is about investment banking in this forum. If this individual is too lazy to work five minutes for his own, would you expect him to survive in a culture working 100hrs/wk for the "firm"?

i bet he would search it if someone said he could get into banking like that...and the Wendys LBO joke was hot
