personally, probaly not in the long run, but if IU is you're dream school then heh that changes things...

Its worth the money for me. I am passing over UC San Diego and UC Santa Barbara, which would be really cheap for me, to hopefully go to IU. Because of the career prospects.

yes it's worth your money to go to IU, if your alternative is some state school in AZ.

However, if you are from states such as california, virginia, michigan, north carolina, and texas, stay in your state.

You really need a 3.7 to get into the Ibanking workshop, but I've seen a student resume with a 3.1GPA( don't know if he got a full-time postition) Also I've seen students with 3.5 get internships at JPMorgan, etc.

This girl resume isn't anything super special. Got an internship at J.P Morgan. I'm betting she's just smart, and a good interviewer.

corporate law: IU is significantly better at placing ib students than most, but the other state schools that are at or slighly above iu at ib placement are michigan ross, tex mcombs, uva, ucb...unc may b close as well about 50 sum are placed there, but compared to asu and u of a its significantly better

well yea see thats the point, IU is not defenatly not a dream school, more like a match/saftey. But if the job prospects are on par or almost with Iveys/Mich/UVA it would make sense.

The only real problem I am having with IU is bloomington, im not sure how much I would like such a small town.

And Im not 100% sure I want to do IB, thats just what ive been thinking but im still just in high school. Im also thinking about RE Dev or mabey law school and I think for those two I would be better off at ASU, but for IB i dono?

what about some non ivy privates like BU or GWU? How would they compare to IU?

lol yea tripperian you and i are in the same boat!!!! goin to IU over the uc's! untilted, i personally think it ultimately depends on the individual person to make a decision to stay instate or not. you really cant make generalizations or exact ones at least when choosing where you want to go for 4 years, ALOT of factors go into it.

UCs dont even have finance, thats why I have to go OOS.

YAAAA Dcho711 and ME YAAAA WE'RE NUMBER 1. FTW!

well i tink berkeley has it heh but again berkeley is HHAAAARD, u shud find a private school that has finance (if there even is one i dont know) cuz private schools will probaly give you beter aid than publics

You think the job prospects are on par with the Ivies or almost. I thought they were excellent, but I wouldn't have said they were on par with Ivies, may on par almost with Umich, UVA, etc. At my current school it's getting kind of depressing, nobody recruits here, most students don't have jobs lined up(unless they are accounting or nursing students), nobody is going to any prestigous companies after they graduate, the best I've heard so far, Is Whirlpool, I know a couple of kids got jobs at GE(had 3.8), also DFAS, and a few marketing students at Dell. Thats it. No Big 4 or consulting, on nothing, and the students with the decent jobs all have 3.8 or 3.9+

Whats ur current school mssales?

DUDE TRIPPERIAN I JUST GOT THE PERFECT SCHOOL FOR YOU!!! USC they got undergrad busines!! or cal state, one of the schools has a undergrad bprogram i heard its alright.

University of Southern Indiana. I'm jetting when I'm done with next semester, The difference in recruiting between this place, and IU is like night and day. You pretty much need a 3.9 to get a 40k a year job here, everything is 30s. Thats not what I envisioned, for myself.

Dcho711 - I looked into USC once but I couldnt find finance on their major list, so I dont know whats up. Also, not to sound cocky or whatever, but I think Im better than the CSUs.

You concentrate in finance at Marshall.
Marshall has great opps if you wanna work on the west coast, excellent alumni connection and recruitment is nice.

yea man, wanna work in LA? USC is the place to go!!!! dude like here in socal, man usc is like BIG even more than ucla!of course i see people wearin ucla stuff but i see more usc apparel down here ;) i personally think usc business and indiana business are very comparable in terms of quality, prestige and recruitment in the corporate world although i have to say usc has a slight edge cuz its such a name brand school :)

Ya but its a lot more expensive.

heheh true tat true tat, my cousin who is at usc pharmacy graduate school also did her undergrad. there and she loaned about 12000-14000 a year to meet the gap cuz financial aid was not fully met. but she was garunteed a spot in the grad. school so she chose tat over ucla :) and another reason why i chose iu over ucla is because her guy friends that went to ucla didnt really get gud jobs or anything when they graduated and im like if i just do average at ucla (which i will cuz academically i dont tink im at ucla level) im beter of at IU!
