Anybody received the email from regarding Multicultual Open House event on Saturday?

From Yale*

I’ve never seen a fly in for prospies at Y in the past, only Y paying for accepted students to attend BDD. Are they paying for your travel? How did you find out about it? Did you have to apply or did Y just give you an offer? I would like to add it to this thread:

Thanks for any info!

It appears they have this event each year–there’s info on it online about last year’s.

Maybe you could give me the link, my google search comes up with:

A blank Admissions webpage, various Y blogs/facebook/■■■■■■ postings, YDN stories and other sites, none of which give any substantial information about invitations/applications, cost, etc.

Some say it’s for students with high need (not sure how they determine this in the fall, other than those who apply with waivers), YDN says that is was for URMs and now all applicants are invited.

I keep track of diversity flyins and have had two URM kids accepted to Y, so it’s interesting that I’m hearing about this for the first time. I’d like to get the facts for future applicants. Thanks!

I received the email as well. Apparently its a brunch with Yale students, several information sessions about the cultural/social aspects of Yale, campus tour, etc.

@Entomom There is a fly-in program available for those who can’t afford it. Yale sent me several emails and a couple letters/postcards about the event, but I don’t believe all applicants are invited. I believe prospective minority students are invited, because I can’t get any further info other than what the email’s told me.

Thanks! Is the fly in you’re talking about for this MOH or for BDD in the spring?
