iPod

Would it be a good idea to bring it and have them put it in storage or would they take it away for good? Whats the policy during the year? Any info would be appreciated.

i don't think it's allowed.

when i went for my cvw, one of the guys in the room had to hide his because they didn't have media priviledges. i'm not saying plebes don't have them, but i don't think they are allowed.

Leave it in storage............ at HOME.

they aren't allowed. at all. lol actually let's have story time.

i kept my ipod in my swim locker and would bring it back to the hall to update it on my computer (very covertly, i thought). what i didn't realize was that my itunes was set to "share", so everyone in my company could listen to my playlist. My username that they saw: my alpha number. quite interesting when they figured it out: i didn't get in trouble, which was amazing considering the ones who who caught me were my second set plebe summer company commander and another one of the cadre...who turned out to be my company's second semester company commander and XO. they laughed and told me to get rid of it. but anoooother firstie thought it was so funny that he made me make a football bet with him (a common firstie-plebe practice), and of course i lost. my punishment: i had to make a mock ipod out of a shoebox, attach headphones, and then walk around for a week singing navy fight songs as i walked from class to class, carrying the thing and wearing the HUGE issued headphones.

don't get caught.

HAHAHA....I'm sorry but thats a funny punishment. I'm sure not you, but on the outside it is pretty humerous (I know i won't be saying that on the 28th) lol. Reminds me of what happened to my brother when he was a plebe...he bet his right turns....and lost obviously, so for one week he couldn't make any right turns. Imagine having to go to class and chop around Bancroft Hall without being able to make a right turn...

actually that's a pretty common academic year punishment, we couldn't make right turns for a couple weeks and then it was left turns they took away. 3rd company plebes lost the privelege to walk through T court, so they had to go around it for the entire 1st semester.
