<p>I'm looking into buying a 40GB iPod.</p>

<p>I was wondering if anyone knew an online store that has a good sale? I looked at Amazon and it seems that they have the best prices.</p>

<p>Also, does anyone know of any coupon codes that are valid right now that I might be able to use toward the purchase of said iPod?</p>

<p>Apple has a refurbished 40gig iPod on their website for $329, and it comes with the same warranty as the new one, so essentially it is new. I got a 10 gig for $169 refurbished from Apple and I can't tell the difference. They replace the backing plate and everything, it's great!</p>

<p>It's tough to beat the amazon deal, since there's free shipping and no tax. Don't forget the a9.com discount (just go to <a href="http://www.a9.com%5B/url%5D"&gt;www.a9.com&lt;/a>, then go back to amazon for the pi/2 discount).</p>

<p>By the way: There are methods of getting the ipod for cheap (no, not the free ipod site). They require some circumvention of the system, though, and are a real pain, but you could potentially pick up a 40GB iPod for ~300.</p>

<p>Apple is having some sort of "black friday" sale tomorrow. I know for a fact that they're pricematching on iPods, so you can pick one up at an Apple store for the same price Amazon charges. There might be an additional discount too, but they haven't announced it yet. Make sure to check the apple store online tomorrow.</p>

<p>The student store discount is negated by all the tax that you have to pay :(.</p>

<p>If one of your parents is a teacher, they might be able to get it tax free. My mom's a teacher, and my iPod (bought at a B+M Apple Store) had the educational discount and didn't have sales tax.</p>

<p>The iPod sale ended up being practically nothing. The student discount is cheaper everyday than the iPod After-Thanksgiving One Day sale was.</p>
