"Buy a Mac, get a free Ipod"

So I saw this deal on apple.com but unfortunately, it's for current college students or about-to-enter-college students. I'm going to be a senior in h.s., so I obviously don't "qualify".

However, have any of you used this deal before? [I know they had something similiar last year too] How do they check that you're really going to/attending a college, esp if you buy it online? Also, how fast did you receive the rebate?

Thanks!(:

You probably need to have a [your college].edu email address to qualify. They have the same deal every year.

lol i got the deal a week ago and i'm about to be a senior in high school. Honestly they are eager to make a sell and really could careless how old you are...o and online works too,i went to the store,it's quicker

@ james-
so they didn't ask for some confirmation or anything?

bump !

which ipod model do you get?

either ipod touch or ipod nano (the one w/ screen)
you get up to $299 rebate back for the ipod, so you can buy one w/ more GB but just pay for the rest.

soo.. does anyone know HOW they confirm your college status? (if they even do check...)

In the store, they check by seeing your college ID card and putting your name/university/ID# into Apple's system. If you are just an admitted student, bringing in the admission packet/letter will usually suffice. I'm not sure about online, as I always go to the Apple Store to buy my stuff.

apple.com does not check, but they do in store. In store you need a school id and a govt issues one.

alright.
thanks!
i think i'll just buy it from online then, haha. do you know how fast you get the rebate?
