Please post your COGAT, PSAT and SAT scores and predict SAT score for a 226 SI on new PSAT? Do you see any correlation between SAT, PSAT, IQ, COGAT and PLAN?
Oof.
Wow. Any correlation? You do realize that the PSAT is a very similar test to the SAT and that the college board is trying to scale the tests so that the PSAT scores will be the same as the SAT scores? Maybe you should read the basic information the college board provided about the PSAT and learn the difference between the psat score and the SI.
Why would you need all those other tests? Of course they are going to be correlated. But they are all less similar to the SAT than the PSAT so correlations will be lower.
There are heaps of studies showing positive correlations among scores on these various tests.
What were your kid’s COGAT scores, are they inline with PSAT/SAT scores?
@WorryHurry411 why do you want to know?
As lostaccount said, there is plenty of published data on these correlations.
If you don’t mind, please send some good links.
Go to your electronic resource data banks and search using the terms listed above. There are literally thousands of studies going back to nearly the beginning of the testing for admissions era.
I would expect the PSAT/SAT are somewhat less correlated with IQ since the removal of analogies and some other changes they made–probably around 1995 or so. Probably even less correlated after the next “new SAT” happens. The SAT has been evolving from an ability test toward an achievement test over the past few decades.
