is social ecology an impacted major at uci?

yeah dang dang...your name is john right?

yeah it is...

why are you on this forum? aren't you at UCI already?

would 3.2 gpa, 240+ hours of volunteering as a CCE at the hospital be enough for social ecology at uci?

brownfx, i think you have a good shot.. i'm sure your acceptance is just in their servers waiting to be released =)

oh lol i wish i was transferring now, i meant for next year.. heheh i apply in fall. im jus wondering how that would fair. Thanks though

LOL. Whatever works for u, man. I am not gona judge u no matter what and ur secret is safe w/ me.

well, i think your fine where you're at right now. however, it can never hurt to raise your gpa. You still have two semesters to go so i'm sure you'll get in.

HAHA i forgot the comma, I am [attending UCI], and checking admissions for my gf

I am still waiting for UCI too

I think the ones that were admitted already were the ones that UCI had no doubts about. And the ones who haven't been admitted need more consideration. :[

I don't think so. That's what scares everyone, but I don't think that is necessarily the case. Perhaps it's partly that, but also just a numbers situation.

"Perhaps it's partly that, but also just a numbers situation."

I agree those happen to be the first 100 or so that were on the top of the pile.

Well see, I know applicants that submitted at different times and got their letters already. One submitted mid-November, and the other submitted right before midnight of the due date.

That would explain how it's partly based on numbers and partly based on quality of the applicant this early.

Not really, several students with high GPA still haven't heard of their results: 1 lady with 4.0 in CS major (most major courses done, IGETC certified at the end of spring), another guy in math major with 3.8+ (still studying in my same math course differential equation), another girl in econ major with 3.8 and me in math major with 3.7...since they don't get their results yet, i'm still not so nervous :D

"That would explain how it's partly based on numbers and partly based on quality of the applicant this early."

Plus there are a thousand different ways an app could be on top or bottom. Did they do a WIP early or late? Did they supply any supplemental information? Where there essays difficult to read thus requiring re-reading? Did an adcom get tired and decide to table an app for tomorrow?
