I'm starting my second semester as a freshman and I'm taking 20 credits. I was wondering if anyone has been in this situation and if it has worked out or been a mistake? I think I can do it with the a lot of time management, but I've never taken 20 credits before and therefore don't know if it's a good or bad idea. These are the classes I'm taking: Chinese 102, Spanish 300, Spanish 301, Interdepartmental 203, Astronomy 100 (including a lab), Math 221 (Calculus 1).

Other information: I'm getting detailed class notes for Astronomy from my roommate and she said it was easy (I understand everyone's work load). I have the same professor for Chinese so I know there isn't too much work. The only classes I plan to have a lot of work in are Math 221, Spanish 301, and possibly INTD 203.

Also I know I can only take 17 credits and that I need to get permission to take 20.
