I'm a transfer to Cornell and I was wondering if taking 20 credits would be too much for an incoming student.

I was also wondering if anyone knew anything about Jon Paramenter's AIS 2660 - Everything You Know About Indians is Wrong: Unlearning Native American History, like how difficult it is, work required, etc.?

Bottom line: Sign up for as much as you want. You have over a month to gauge your workload and drop courses without penalty.

That being said, you need to be honest with yourself about the workload. It can be tough to invest half a semester into a class only to drop it, but as exams approach, you’ll need to assess how you’re doing.

It’s certainly possible. I did 21 credits in engineering; I know a guy who petitioned to take 26, but I don’t know if he was successful). However, the following two semesters, I took five classes and ended up dropping one each time. It varies per professor, per schedule, and per student.

Quick question, how many credits can you take up to without petitioning?
I’m in CALS.
Thinking of signing up for 23 then dropping one if it becomes too much.

What are the classes? It makes a huge difference. One semester I did 6 classes/23 credits and I would honestly say it was not my hardest semester.
