Is 21 units a semester too much?

My classes are:
Nutrition- 2 units
Beginning baking- 4 units
English 103 critical thinking(last English class)- 3 units
Art 201 drawing- 3 units.

and at another school in my same school district, I’m taking Econ 1 the first session (September 2- October 24) and political science the second session (October 25- December 18) (both Econ 1 and Poli Sci are 3 units)

That totals to 18 units, but I’m thinking of taking communication studies too since I need it to transfer. That would be another 3 units. My culinary classes are simple. Should I see if I could handle 18 units this semester, then take 21 spring?

Even simple classes take time to attend, and require homework. To maximize your transfer opportunities, take a manageable amount of units and do well in those classes.

If this is your first semester, take 16 or 18 and see how you do before you push it to 21. You can do that in the spring if you decide it would be manageable.
