Well i'm thinking about taking 18 or 21 units so that I can be have the spring semester off before transferring. But I am aiming for A's.

I do not plan on working. but is it doable? generally speaking

If you are in Community College it can be done. Yes.
I also think it depends on what classes you are taking and their level of difficulty.

^^ i agree, it definitely depends on the courses you are taking.

Basically what Woman said. I think it would vary from person to person, but if it were 18-21 units of calculus, o-chem, computer science, and advanced physics I would probably get owned.

English, music appreciation, history, etc...it would be doable. HOWEVER, when taking that many units it is very important not to procrastinate as you will have many assignments from different classes piling up on you at once. So start early on your assignments and just give yourself time and you'll be ok.

Good luck!

i knew someone with 35 LOL

In community college it is not that much if all you are is a student.

I took 22 or 24 - dont remember now. That was when i quit my job for a semester and was determined to transfer. I took Language,Bio+Lab, Bio II, 6unit Math course, and the last required English for transfer.

If your community college is on a semester system it is really NOT that bad at all, you dont do anything first like 3 weeks of class anyways

thanks for the advice.

i'm taking a mass communcation class (online), macroeconomics, history, fundamentals of speaking, interpersonal speaking, anthropology+lab and pursuasion

does your CC have a semester unit max? if so, did you already petition for it?

lots of people do that in a quarter

You'll be fine. I'm working part-time and I'm usually taking 20 units with more difficult (or work-intensive) classes. Since you're not working it shouldn't be a problem if you don't procrastinate.

ive taken 18 units last semester and 19 units this semester at csuf. this semester was more tough than last semester cause i had general chemistry, statics (engineering course), physics (magnetism & electricity), math (linear algebra and differential equation which is like calculus 4) and a GE course. i pulled off with mostly B's and a few A's its do able, just have to have your mind set.

I am sure I am able to do 18 units, but I want to work a little bit. I need some money, and my parents/me want me to support myself some while I still live at home. The reason I say I can do 18 units is because reports from my sister who took the exact music class I am taking pretty much tell me that that is a free A with little outside work except memorizing songs or something. But I actually am not sure because I have yet to take a CC course and that would be bad if I just took 18 units and worked part time (10-15 hours a week=$100-$150).
