Is 2200 enough...?

Hi,

I was just curious if a 2200 SAT I (R700 M770 W730) is enough to get me into a good UC, such as UCLA or UCSD. I really don't want to take it a second time if I don't have to and I'm certainly not planning to apply to any Ivies at the moment. My CGPA's not that high and is probably only around 4.1 - 4.2 weighted.

Also, can anyone list a few private colleges/universities that are mainly math/science based and aren't super competitive to get into?

Thanks.

A 2200 is above average for the admitted applicant to UCLA, and most likely at UCSD too. Your GPA is also around average (maybe .1 lower?) for admitted applicants to these schools. I think you have a good shot at these schools if your essay and extra curriculars are somewhat impressive.

if you are in-state, definitely good enough.

Your SAT is good enough. However, for schools like UCLA, there are no guarantees since the school rejects so many students.

What are your financial safety schools?

Consider Georgia Tech. It’s strong math/science wise, and entrance is almost nearly guaranteed with your SAT scores.
It’s my fallback, personally, partially because it’s in state for me.
