Hi all, I'm new to this forum...I just took the october SATs for the first time (I'm a junior) and I got:

M: 770
CR: 700
W: 800

from what i've read, many colleges don't even consider the writing score...so just taking into consideration math and CR, that's 1470/1600.

Should I retake it? The thing is, I don't know how much better I would do on CR, as I've consistently scored low 700s during practice tests, and I can increase 30 points at best for math...

And I am aiming for Wharton, that is my dream school.

It’s definitely fine, but if you want an even greater chance, go for an 800M. Math is most important for Wharton.

You’re a junior high student? This is a great score. The fact that you still have time this year and next year means that you should probably take it again if you have time. I’m not sure about Wharton’s requirements, but if you do have the time, study some more and try retaking it this May/June.

That score is really great, so keep it up!

You’ll probably want to retake a 1470. Also, Wharton would most likely want to see a Math2 subject test score. If you can get an 800 in that I wouldn’t be so concerned about your math score; what is more important for you to do I think is to improve your CR score. Nevertheless; you’ve got time and you’re not in bad shape as it is.

Considering that the average for the entire school is typically in the low-to-mid 1400 range, I’d say go ahead and try to bring the math up and squeeze a bit out of CR if you can. Do well on Math IIC (you should definitely try for the 800) and you’ll be fine on the score front.

“You’re a junior high student?”

I believe he meant a junior in high school.

I commend everyone who has posted so far for refraining from making some smartass comment on how “Wharton” was misspelled.

I’ve been commended and haven’t even received my PSAT score yet. :)
