in my opinion, a lot of people skip out of classes even if it was a respectable 12pm class. Of course, it's harder to wake up for an 8am or 9am, but you'll notice that as the weeks flow by, your 10am or 12pm chem/bio/etc class gets more sparse. the only big class where you have to go (its a 10am class) is psych 101 cuz they take attendance (they use to).

my advice is just to make sure you don't sechedule sections early in the day.

I hardly ever made it to my 8AM Math192 class! Needless to say it turned out to be a disaster. D'oh! I can't even make it to 10AM classes sometimes. Ohhh...college.

I'm trying to choose between taking my bio lab on a weekday at 8am, weekend at 9am, or weekday at 7:30pm. They all sound like horrible time slots to me. Is it unadvisable to have class on the weekends or late at night? 8am sounds horrible to me too.

Who knows if you'll ever wake up on a staruady at 8AM. Its not uncommon to have classes at night, especially "sections" and labs. The thing that sux about lab is that they're long and you're presumably tired of classes by 7:30PM. Still, I'd go for that time =)

Take classes early in the morning and then nap in the afternoon. You'll be more awake for early morning classes than for afternoon classes, and the nap'll let you stay up late anyway.

9:05, 10:10, or 11:15 are best IMO. They leave plenty of the day for work and fun after you're done with your classes, but don't make you get up painfully early. Starting classes too late in the day means you're going to HAVE to be up very late doing work, unless you do work before your first class, which is unlikely unless it's an "emergency." I'm going to try and start around 10 most days unless it's just 1 random class. Try playing around with www.schedulizer.com to help work out your schedule before Add/Drop starts.

I'm not exactly a morning person... I'm sleepy all morning, and I find that I can concentrate on books the best around midnight. However, it seems some of the classes I want are 8 and 9 AM. meh.
