is a 3.4 gpa okay.. for a college freshman looking to go to med

So i got a 2.7 on one of my class during my first quarter in because i didn’t think college would be any different from high school. And, it resulted in my overall freshman gpa to come out as 3.4 so is that a decent gpa for a freshman or am i royally screwed?

Welcome to college. People can struggle first year adjusting to college. 3.4 GPA for first year is fine. S finished first year with GPAs below 3.2 and is a resident. Good luck.

^^Same was true for D1. She struggled her freshman year because she wasn’t prepared for the college workload. She taught herself how to study for college and managed to salvage her GPA. She’s now a resident in her desired specialty.

A 3.4 is ok for the first year but don’t let it slip during the four year UG period. An overall 3.4 is not going to get you into md school, maybe a do school. The bar has been raised to around 3.6 for md schools.
