I got 3.7 GPA my first year of college at a community college. Now I have transferred to a four year college as a sophomore and got 3.0 GPA my first semester. Does this look bad? Am I no longer competitive for med school?

Class schedule
Gen chem 2
Calc 2
Physics/w calc
And a one credit seminar class

13 hours totall. I got all Bs in my classes.

Well, it won’t look fantastic. You have to make sure to get A’s second semester and on. It may look like you can’t succeed at a 4-year institution taking generally harder classes, you have to prove adcoms otherwise.

Techy’s right. It doesn’t look good but you still have the opportunity to turn things around. It basically looks like your CC was easy and you can’t handle a 4-year, but there’s no reason you can’t prove that perception wrong next semester. Just work hard and succeed. Figure out what went wrong this semester and fix it. Good luck!
