Is a minor worth it?

I’m currently a rising senior majoring in Finance and Real Estate with a concentration in Data Analytics. Currently, I’m minoring in mass communications but I’ll have to take two classes this summer to complete my minor.

Do you think completing the minor is worth the additional work and money (3k)? I could care less about the classes I’ll have to take, but will employers and/or grad schools look at a minor as plus? My main issue with dropping it is that I’ve already taken 4 out of the 6 classes needed. I’m looking to get into commercial real estate if that makes a difference.

I don’t think anyplace will hire you or accept you for grad school because you have a minor. Unless 1) the minor is personally meaningful to you (sounds like it is not) and 2) you have the money to spare I would not bother. You can always put on your resume/grad school application that you have taken additional coursework in mass communications.

is the minor required by your school?
