Is admissions selectivity dramatically increased for prospective theatre majors?

Hello!

I am a student applying ED to NU as a prospective theatre major. I know that NU accepts a relatively large percentage of applicants early, but I'm wondering if this number is much lower for the theatre major?

Thank you.

Also, if anyone would like to chance, that'd be great. I'm pretty sure I'd have a good chance of getting in if I were applying to Weinberg, but I'm not sure what the admissions process is like for the School of Communications...

Thanks! If you post a link, I will chance back.

Theater program is definitely harder to get in because of the 50-50 cap. But I’d be shocked if you don’t get in.

Sam, what do you mean by the 50-50 cap? Do they take 50 boys and 50 girls each year? I had heard that the program was capped at 100 overall.

Yes, 50 M and 50 F is what I heard.

My DD is a theater major-junior this year. Her class had 50/50 split. You have strong stats, and clearly your interest in theater is strong vis-a-vis your EC involvement. As odd as it may sound-you may not a shoe-in for acceptance, however. I think it is because of the small number of slots. ED is a good choice, to give you that extra edge. G’Luck!
