Why do I keep hearing this so much on the radio. They might as well turn this country into a theocracy. I mean why should religion influence politics in the slightest. It makes no sense to me at all. People who founded this country came here to escape religious persecution, but now what do we do?
I guess I've just been listening to bad radio, but it's really annoying that this comes up whenever someone debates abortion, or same-sex marriage

I got mad love for the Christians tho :)

It’s similar to how Americans like to say “THIS IS AMERICA, SPEAK ENGLISH” when, technically, we don’t have an “official” language.

I think all Americans should speak English, because that’s what the Bible is written in.

Yah I h8 when they do that.

^^ PREACH

10char

@HarryJones - (Facepalm)
It was written in Hebrew

America is an atheist nation in regard to the law and that’s how it should be

if he were being serious I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t be on this site lol

Have you ever even opened a Bible? It’s like clearly in English. A few ‘thees’ and ‘thous’ don’t make it a foreign language.

Edit: ^:/ You’re spoiling my fun.

OMG. And i thought everyone in this site was reasonably smart. Apparently not. Sigh

:( shame on me then. Jesus may you smite me. wait, isn’t God the one who does the smiting? But Jesus IS God… Christianity is so confusing >:c

Because, what, 80% of Americans identify as Christians?

@ doratheexplorer
Harry Jones was obviously joking. calm down.

Our Lord and Savior is not to be questioned in his authority. If you want to be a heathenish sinner, move out of our wonderful United States of America and take it up with either God or George Washington.

Lol. I guess Allah is not to be questioned as well, because of our freedom of religion. O may the beheading of the infidels begin.

Culturally we’re Christian, but legally we are (and should) not. I never get the people that say gay marriage/drugs/whatever should be illegal simply because it goes against their morals. No, they can’t simply avoid partaking in things they deem immoral, they need to impose by force their beliefs on others. But they’d freak out if someone banned something they think is OK. grrrr. I hate theocrats.

However, abortion should definitely be banned. I don’t see how you can logically and objectively say a fetus is not a human being (and thus entitled to human rights, i.e. not being murdered).

But a fetus is like a rat. Who cares what it might develop into.

No. There are so many other cultures who practice different types of religion in America.

^
What it MIGHT develop into? Is there a new in vitro disease that gives human fetuses 72 chromosomes and has a chance of turning them into crickets? w t f

I read that statistically, most Americans consider themselves Christian, and many agnostic or atheist Americans have the most familiarity and connection to some form of Christian religion. Our heritage is also steeped the most in Christianity.
