is anyone excited that its almost December 10....

just an observation...

the harvard forum already has a 12 page thread for their early action countdown

what losers.

yes but no

If by "excited" you mean "going clinically insane" then yes.

-Ender

how long does it take them to review apps? Are they almost finished? or have they just started?

probably somewhere in between ^

hahaha ender, im with you. im going nuts. nuts. NUTS.

I third the insane statement.
Watch decisions not get released till the 17th or something and have everyone here die of impatience.

You'd think for $75 they could at least send me my rejection in a timely fashion! Haha, that would really suck, but you really can't get your hopes up.

I'm trying to stay calm and focus on school work but I've been finding that to be impossible!

i fourth the insane statement

My folks have been prepping me for disappointment. They say: "You'll never make it. You're an idiot!" That kinda pessimism works. If I get in, I'd be happier. If I don't I won't feel as bad.

Pessimism - The warm blanket for fear.

i know that there will always at least the community college a block away from my high school.... or at least mcdonalds to work at.

so we don't even have any confirmation yet that it is going to be released on the 10th or even if they will give decisions on the phone?

Not excited at all, because there's a very low admission chance, and I have to deal with other apps.

On the bright side, UC apps are done!

Concerning the decision date, I believe that the people last year didn't know until a couple days before that they could call and find out. I remember reading in the archives about people calling weeks before and being told nothing about the date released or if they could inquire by phone. So, I assume as "Mid-December" approaches, we'll find out more. Unless some brave CCer wants to call and find out for everyone (Not me)...

They won't give you a date. Trust me.

I have a feeling that if someone calls on the 10th, they might be in luck though.

-Ender

Think about the big picture. You're going to know your entire lives whether you got into undergraduate Stanford early or not. So why stress over a couple days or minutes or even seconds clicking on the email when in the grand span of time it is inconsequential? lol I am subtracting one from the insane statement. We are at three now.

For some people, a few days does matter. Take me, I have to postmark an application to another school by December 10th, but if I was accepted to Stanford and knew about it that day, I could save $60 plus postage.

haha if someone has the guts to call.. the more power to em.. im too scared.. and its long distance.

For me, a couple days will completely decide whether i apply to like 2-4 more schools with 65 dollar application fees. Plus, if I do send more apps I need to get them sent out before I go on vacation on the 19th

i go on vacation on the 19th.. not to mention i have a math final on the 18th which if i dont get into STanford, I will have to put a lot more effort into to make sure I get an A... also, im going to call. But im calling on the 10th.
