well. I kind of want Simmons to be a safety. Like, nearly full ride at least safety. But I don't know if that's going to happen. But I kinda like Simmons... but I don't think I know enough about it yet, and I don't have time or money to visit unfortunately before I start applying. So will someone answer these questions please?

How's the job placement after your undergrad degree? Is Simmons well-known in Boston or around the country, or on the west coast? If I want to work before grad school, will it be easy to find a job because I got a degree from Simmons? What about grad school?

Secondly, I have about a 3.93 GPA, 1970 total SAT (but will be retaking...), and a bunch of extracurricular/leadership activities. What are my chances at merit aid? I checked on the site and they weren't specific. How is their financial aid package in general? Especially if you're in the middle class?

How are the girls there? Right now I really like Scripps. I don't know why I keep looking at girls' schools... but I mostly like Scripps a lot because it is a girl's school yet is surrounded by a bunch of boys in the other Claremont schools. So do Simmons people get a lot of interaction with guys around town? How are the girls in general? Is it diverse? Are there a lot of people from the east coast or is it broadened throughout the country? What's the typical Simmons student?

I'm a freshman at Simmons this year. I'd say you'd probably get a big chunk of aid. I got a good amount (13k total) with a ~2.8 GPA and no ECs or volunteering, just a really good SAT score. Simmons is well known in the area, but not really outside of Boston. As far as work goes, I'm not sure, I know the nursing program is pretty good about getting people out to work after they finish, but some other majors have a harder time (communications). I'm personally a biochemistry major and I'm not too worried. The girls here are pretty great actually. Having seen the girls at other schools around here, we have the most diverse collection of women (read: lowest UGG to female percentage). I have met girls from California, Hawaii, Latvia and my own home state, so the girls do come from all over. Generally people are very nice, my only complaint being that there is a lack of academic competition for the most part. As far as boys go, we are smack dab in the middle of a huge city full of college kids. BU, Emmanuel, Suffolk, Wentworth, Northeasthern. That's it I think....

Uggs are those 200 dollar boots that can't be worn in anything but 90 degree sunshine. Anyway, my point was everyone is friendly and happy to be at the school. I'm just bitter...lol

My daughter applied to Simmons , RD. We know someone who is there for their nursing school. She went back to college after having received a degree in business. I hear that it is cery intense and affiliated with Mass General Hospital.
My daughter received a Christmas card from an alumni from the class of 1944 !

I used to post on this website a lot. I've decided on Simmons and my first year was great! I am in the Physical Therapy program and it's tough as hell, but totally worth it. I have a lot of friends in the nursing program, it's pretty tough and Organic Chemistry was probably the hardest subject any girl took here.

Anyway, I'd be glad to answer some questions for girls who are going or still extended-deciding.

By the way, I turned down Marquette University (in Wisconsin, highly accredited), UPITT, UCONN, Pace, and Fordham for Simmons.

It was the right choice for my major. PS: the girls here are some of the most amazing women I've ever met. They are from everywhere and they are extremely friendly!

My D was accepted to Simmons EA, nice merit money...turned it down and I agree it wasn't right for her. But it is a wonderful place in a great spot in the city. D. #2 is also going to apply - possibly a better fit for her. I think it has an excellent rep and is not as snobby as a few others...down the road...

Even though my daughter chose to go elsewhere, we were all very impressed by Simmons. When she sent them a note declining their offer ,she got a very nice letter back saying that they will keep her offer open for one year.
Wonderful school and very challenging academically from what I hear
