Is anyone rejecting a scholarship?

Hey. My name is Saket Munshaw. I just want to know if anyone is rejecting a scholarship at wake? If anyone is, thanks. Im going to wake only if someone rejects a scholarship.

thanks

Hello there!

I see how this is working out I guess. I think there is a likely chance some people will reject scholarships. I know in the Parent's Forum right now there is a thread where a son has a full scholarship to Wake and I think Texas as well and is debating between those or full-ride at Duke or Georgetown. It's likely he could reject Wake.

Some of the top students in the Wake pool might be likely to reject because they'll go elsewhere. I guess you'll just have to sit around and wait. I'm still waiting for my scholarship package to arrive. Darn international mail.

Good luck!
I really hope this works out for you. :)

ok. lets hope something works out and some smart people accept at other places. my only request to them is that please let the admisssions office know as soon as they make their decision not to attend wake. ill be grateful for that.

If they decide not to attend Wake it is in good form to notify quickly. I wouldn't worry. It will be at the latest May 1st, when the decisions are due.

Wait...so if someone doesn't choose to attend Wake could their scholarship go to someone else? I got a letter that said I didn't get anything, but is it possible I could if someone rejects it? Thanks!

Interesting! My daughter is still seriously considering Wake but has larger scholarships & grants at two other schools so is starting to lean away from Wake...her Wake scholarship was for half tuition.

Many schools offer merit scholarships as lures for certain kids (based on stats, ECs, etc) and are not reissued if declined. The money goes into the pot for next year's attractive candidates.

oh ok. my bad. i thought they would give some money. im sorry. this thread is useless then. sorry for inconvinence.

thanks anyways
