If you want to take a poker "class," study Game Theory, a math heavy branch of econ. The 2001 World Series of Poker main event champion, Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, is an expert on the subject, and look where it got him. Game theory can also be applied to various other social sciences and many forms of cards/gambling beyond poker, and of course game theory can help you get the blonde (ref: A Beautiful Mind, the Nash equilibrium is game theory).

The only problem for most people here on CC is that it is usually an advanced undergrad or grad level course for econ majors. However, you could do some self-studying (like I plan on doing) beforehand- pick up a couple of intro texts not written for grad students, use MITs Open Courseware (a fantastic resource for many other topics as well), etc. My xmas list this year includes some very basic game theory books, so I'm looking forward to delving into this subject soon.
