Is AP Chem harder than AP Physics B or vice versa? Which one is easier to self-study? Which one is more fun/interesting based? Please answer these questions based on your past experiences. Thanks!

I'd say AP Chem is harder than AP Physics B. Physics would probably be easier to study (chem has all the labs, etc.). I think physics is more of a fun/interesting AP. I haven't taken either, but I have friends who have.

I think they are fairly equal in difficulty and interest.

I think chem would be easier to self study because the concepts are easier to comprehend, and although there are lab portions, if you read through a good book it won't hurt your score too much.

I took both last year, coming out with a 4 on Chemistry and a 5 on Physics B. I think Physics B is easier but I'm not sure, it may just be my preference.

AP Chem is normally more demanding than Physics B. The physics labs I found were pointless and could be done in 1/10 the time it took to do a chem lab. Take the AP chem class because being in the lab, though is more work, is a very rewarding experience

AP Chem was the easiest AP I've ever taken. AP Physics B was among the hardest (more difficult to internalize the concepts. in chemistry everything is common sense, but in physics there are some things you really have to get used to).

I have to go with Physics B being harder than Chemistry.

Physics B > Chem

Physics B involves trig, systems, and sometimes stats and calc. Physics B labs might be a joke to some, but the practice of regression goes a long way in future majors.

I would say that Physics B is harder than Chemistry only because Physics B covers a wide array of topics. It is really difficult to grasp and learn everything that is necessary for the Physics B exam through self-study unless you are really motivated. If you're planning to self-study and you have chemistry background, chemistry would be easier in my opinion.

Physics B is a survery of physics and while it covers a lot of material, the questions are not exceptionally difficult. In addition, it is not too hard to self-study if you take time to understand everything. Chemistry is harder to self-study and probably requires more analytical thinking. Although I did not take Physics B, I've seen the test and know most of the curriculum. It is easier than chemistry.

I had a fantastic teacher for AP Chemistry wheras I had to self study
AP Physics C Mechanics.. ...All things being equal I would say there is
mroe memorization required in Chemistry and more forst prionciples based
reasoning in Physics....

...I have no opinion on Physics B which cuts a wide swath across mutliple
topics...
