Im debating on wether or not to take AP english Language next year. My school runs on a block schedule so its an yearlong course. Its weighted as an AP credit 1st semester and and honors credit 2nd semester. Also, I will be having many other Ap classes next year if that affects anything.

Main Questions: Should I take AP english language or stick with honors? How much work is the class?

My schedule next year:

AP calc AB (1st semester)
AP calc BC (2nd semester)
AP US Hist
AP Psych
AP comp. gov
H english
H E-commerce
H sociology
AP human geography online (yearlong)
AP world history online (yearlong)

should I replace H E-commerce and H english for AP english Language yearlong?

AP Language and Composition is not a difficult class especially if you are at least a decent writer. The essays, the analytical, synthesis, and argumentation, are quite simple to learn. Also, I found the class to be extremely helpful and more beneficial than an honors english class. The only truly difficult part of AP Language and Comp is the multiple choice because it requires a lot of skill and practice! Good luck!
Note: The AP test people tend to plan AP Calculus AB and BC on the same day and the same time so unless you only want to take one of them I’d suggest only taking AP Calculus AB.

In our school, calculus is a yearlong course with AB being first semester and BC being second…So basically we have to take both for some reason

Oh haha btw nice schedule! Human geography and Psychology are the EASIEST tests, I got 5’s on both of them!

I know, some of the AP’s are easy but im not sure if 8 AP’s is a good idea. Do you know if there is a really big difference between honors english and AP eng?

btw I wont be taking all of the exams…If I take AP english then ill take the calc, psych, apush, compartive, and english exams. Might take human since its easy but not world…too much studying

In AP Language, well at least in my class, we delved into rhetorical devices and focus on analytical thought as well as reading classic American novels. In an honors english class you merely read short stories and books but without the focus on analytical thought and essay writing.
