I'm a senior in a high school in Westchester and recently got accepted to Binghamton. Currently, I have my list narrowed down to two schools (Bing and Geneseo). I feel that the academics are similar enough so that I should make my decision based on which college I would enjoy more. So basically, what I want to know is how fun is Binghatmon? Are the people cool? Are there parties/drinking going on a lot? What about the dorms/campus? Basically any imformation would be awesome, and I'll appreciate any opinions I receive. Thanks a lot.

What program/major are you thinking of?

Like I said before, the program I’m thinking of doesn’t matter, since I’m going to choose solely based on which college will be a more enjoyable experience for me. If you’re still curious though, I’m pretty undecided.

I had the choice between Bing and Geneseo, decided on Bing today. I can’t speak for how the whole experience is but my friends who are freshmen at Bing absolutely love it. Bing’s pre-med advising is also great. You should visit both of them.

I already visited both of them, but couldn’t really get much of a feel for either school. It’s good to hear Binghamton is well-liked though.

Did your friends happen to say anything about what life is like in Binghamton (parties, people, etc.?)

It really depends on what you are into- do you like smaller, more rural areas (Geneseo) or do you like the idea of having a small urban area to explore (Binghamton).

As for parties- again, it depends on personal preference. The people who go to bars/frats are there and enjoying themselves, but so are people like me who don’t enjoy that sort of thing. It’s diverse enough in the sense that people can have a wide range of choices on a Friday night.

Binghamton is a huge party school, I’ve had friends that have gone to visit other friends in binghamton and they’ve said the partys are amazing, the social scene is the best part of going there. So, if you’re into that, they i’d say def. binghamton, Geneseo is more of an “artsy” type campus.

binghamton is one of the schools im really considering going to as well. hows social life and the area around there? is there much to do in the city/town?

I’m also considering binghamton and listen don’t get me wrong, I love partying but with that said I know bing is such a big party school I’m afraid my grades will suffer. What do you guys think? Do kids from binghamton get into good medical schools?

i never thought of bing as a huge party school, lol. i heard their pre-med is just as good as stony, for undergrad that is.

Visited binghamton yesterday. Me being a party guy and big on social life i was really impressed with binghamton. I deff saw alot of pretty and hot girls. Binghamton has a bowling alley and pool tables underground. The residence halls seem really alive, and everyone was friendly. And the school overall seem bright, and a good place to be. Since its such a huge school u can find anything u want if u look for it! Binghamton is worth it!

Yes, Bing is a big party school if you WANT it, if not, it is not a big party school at all and its easy to focus on your grades.

remember that although binghamton students playy hard, its the best SUNY for academics as a whole, so they obviously work hard too
