When I was talking to my counselor, he mentioned that BSCI 100: BIOLOGY TODAY would be required for me if I did not get IB credit. Based on my predicted IB scores, I enrolled into BSCI 110. However, I just found out that I would not receive IB credit for biology based on my 5. Does this mean that my schedule would change without my consent? Meaning that BSCI 110 would be replaced by BSCI 100: BIOLOGY TODAY?

BSCI 100 is for non-science majors. However, you cannot take both - you have to get credit for one or the other. If you are a bio science major / pre-med, you have to take 110. This essentially voids any AP/IB credit you would have gotten for 100. Your schedule will not change without your consent - basically you don’t get any credit for doing well on AP/IB bio tests if you are a bio major. The credit is really only helpful for non-science majors so they don’t have to take any more bio. Hope this helps!

Thats almost exactly what i thought I wonder why my counselor said otherwise o.O

The academic advisors are sometimes a little minsinformed… after all, they’re usually just random professors, not like they work in the registrar’s office.
