I'm considering getting the Kindle Fire for colleges to use for using ebooks instead of using hardcover textbooks. I've read that you can highlight and make notes on the ebooks with the kindle. But is it a good investment and useful?

The Kindle’s screen dimensions isn’t the best for reading. It works for ebooks but if you have magazines or textbooks it will leave a big gap on the top and bottom due to the dimensions. That being said it’s only $200. It’s great for the price but if you plan on using it day-to-day it’s quite slow. If you can spend an additional $100, buy a refurbished 16GB iPad 2 from the Apple website. It’s superior to the Kindle Fire although it’s a generation old. If you have any other questions, let me know.
