Is Cal Poly Pomona boring/depressing?

<p>I'm thinking about transferring there but I hear it's a commuter school, but I have also noticed that campus housing has increased a lot and there is a huge student apartment complex (University Village). So, since I would be transferring there without knowing anyone and I am out-of-area, is it a good idea?</p>
