W&M is a reach for any OOS applicant. I know of one student from New York with similar (if not better) stats as yours who was rejected. They ended up at Case Western Reserve University.

I’d say it’s harder for an out of state student, so while not an extreme reach, it’s definitely not a likely. My daughter had similar stats … out of state, same number of APs, similar GPA although she took more courses each semester (7 academic classes every semester), similar activities and probably more honors, but not significantly … and she was accepted ED last year. I’m not sure how she would have fared RD, but most people predicted she would be accepted ED and she was.

You certainly have a solid SAT score and it is helpful that you are male, since the current student body is around 55% female. We are from TX and my daughter had similar stats, albeit a slightly higher GPA (went to private school which also didn’t rank). FWIW - I don’t think I’d include any reference to National Society of High School Scholars. If I remember correctly, it is pretty much a fee-driven organization. Good luck to you. My daughter absolutely adores W&M and I am thrilled she was accepted because it has proven to be an excellent fit. Go Tribe!
