I have heard that Columbia is one of the hardest colleges to graduate from and that it is known for its academic rigor. I have loved Columbia since I was young, but I want to go to a college where you can receive an above average education and where you can still have fun. So first of all, is Columbia hard to graduate from and get through, and second of all is it fun. If not, what are some good colleges with good reputations but that are also fun?

What is “fun” to a number of Columbia students is its location in NYC. One of my kids, who went there, took advantage of lots of things in the city. Yes, he worked hard, but he also had fun. I don’t know if this is true, but Penn has the reputation as being the “social IVY,” so I would imagine they know how to have fun.
