"Thank you for your interest in Columbia University!

Thank you for your interest in Columbia University. Given the challenges some applicants have experienced with the Common Application, we are extending our Regular Decision application deadline to 11:59 p.m. (your local time) on Monday, January 6.

As an alternative to the Common Application, we also offer the option of submitting the Columbia First-Year Application. We want to assure you that we are committed to working with students who wish to apply to Columbia.

We look forward to getting to know you through your application and wish you the best of luck with your senior year and your college search.

One question guys.
If the money has been accepted, common app and writing supplements submitted - but a few hours after the deadline!
Will the universities still accept the applications?
Or is there a way around it?

Possibly reading on the lines, “thanks for submitting you common app, but you’re late - so go to hell”
Just reassurance!!

Common App’s twitter page is acting like they fixed everything when still a ton of people cant get their checkmarks. We shouldn’t have to manipulate the app by deleting everything and then fixing it in order to check everything. I just don’t understand why the common app thought our apps weren’t completed. Its bull.

check it.
if you don’t want to, then think about this:
suppose a future Einstein/Bach/Lincoln/Jobs(whoever) was to attend some school he’d been dreaming of. Say he was stellar, like SAT ~2400, 5.0 GPA, numerous AP 5, exceptional talent, outstanding EC & honors that would pretty much make most of the applicants feel small. Will that school reject that man brutally simply because our future humanity-changer had a little whatsoever-problem that made him to submit his application late for a mere second (which is of couse AFTER the deadline)? Will schools ever risk doing so?
that said, better check it.

I’m trying to submit my application since yesterday…but then all it shows is “PDF generation in progress”…i downloaded the PDF version of my application and previewed it. What to do next??? There is no “continue” option …the screen shows "“PDF generation in progress” for hours.

yeah its been really glitched but most schools are giving allowances on time since they know that its common app’s fault so just check in with your schools and i’m sure everything will be sorted! good luck!
