Is Computer Science Competitive?

Is there like a specific amount that will be accepted to that major each year (like Haas)?

Thanks!

Get above a 2.0 and you’re fine.

So I just need a good/steady GPA and I’m fine for the major right? I don’t want to go for it then not get in because of some strict quota like Haas :(! Thanks for the reply!

As long as you don’t fail all your classes then you should get in. CS isn’t impacted like Haas so they don’t restrict you from majoring in it, unless you flat out fail all your classes.

Ok that makes me feel much better then :). Thanks for all the awesome replies guys!

Bump! Trying to revive this thread

So I will most likely be going to Cal next year, and planning to major in CS (I’m actually really bad at CS but I feel like it’s the best option regarding job offers etc). Is CS super competitive to get an A? :(?

Not sure about competitiveness, but it certainly is difficult/time consuming if you’re really bad at it…and if you are really as bad as you make it seem, I don’t think you’d get the A when some others can breeze through while you struggle…I’d say give it a shot, and if you’re that bad, switch majors.
