It seems to be a magical school set off in a very distant location. That fact that only a few select individuals can go to it, makes it seem even more so.

AD White Reading room is like hogwarts to me. It is awesome :)

law school library!!

i've always wanted to go to hogwarts..

Yeah..only if it had a residential college system (like UChicago, Rice, Yale, etc.).

Completely agree with the AD White Reading room comment though! :D

when it gets cloudy out, I think that Cornell has Hogwarts-like feel to it. If all the Cornell buildings are more uniformly gothic like Yale's, it would be so similar to Hogwarts.

and here is a picture of the AD White Reading room

ah! thats creepy and awesome at the same time!

Very nice.

My two favorite schools in terms of aesthetics are Cornell and UChicago

If you were to get rid of Uris Hall.....Cornell would be nearly perfect :-)

yeah uris is ugly :( but im over it

^ i was told that Uris Hall was meant to rust and turn a reddish color, is that true?

yeah, that's what the tour guide told my group. She also said it didn't turn out as expected because of miscalculations..hahha

yousonofatree: what do you mean cornell doesn't have a residential college system?

It seems that on every college tour, the tour guide claims that their school is like Hogwarts.

sambago, I think that means they split you up into "houses", like at yale, there's all the different houses that have their own crests and everything

There's also a tree some of us call the "weeping willow" for fun... but it's probably just my friends and I. It's on the arts quad, on the corner of it right by Uris library, and there are a bunch of names carved into it, it's really cool. :P And Risley looks like a castle, it's probably my favorite exterior aesthetic on campus.

I think the water near cornell is also another reason why its similar to hogwarts

i know what tree you are talking about!!

Risley dining is kind of like hogwarts, and i think they even had a harry potter party there once.

Cornellians - post some Hogwarts-like pictures!
