I was thinking about self studying Physics B now during my senior year, but the place I'm most likely going to go (UC Irvine) only offers 8 units of elective credit for it. I'm taking Honors Physics right now so I either have the option of using that class to help study for the AP test or focusing the rest of my strength on the other 6 APs I have. UCI offers physics credit for Physics C but I'm taking Calculus BC this year so I don't think I have the proper knowledge for it.

.....bump?

You guys don't know anything?
This makes a big difference on whether or not I should use valuable time to self study or study for other APs. I can only imagine it should apply for others who self study too.

At my school, many of the students take Physics C and Calculus AB concurrently, and they seem to do fine on the Physics C exam.

The question of whether the credit is worth it is entirely up to you. Taking a look at possible majors at UC Irvine might help you to figure out whether those elective credits would help you credit-wise towards your major. (Some colleges/majors have specific types of elective credits that you need to take, while other colleges/majors don't specify the type.) It's possible that the elective credits would be enough to bump you to sophomore standing that you might not otherwise have, and that standing might have value, too.

The other thing you have to consider -- and only you know the answer to this -- is whether taking on the studying for another AP exam would push you too hard. If taking on this other exam would jeopardize the credits you might earn from the other AP classes, then it's almost certainly not worth it.

Thanks for the reply!
