And then making fun of the president’s daughter to take a shot at the president. That’s just no honor or manhood right there. That’s classless. I don’t care who you are, Conservative, Liberal, whatever, you don’t put someone’s kids into it. **** escalates too much. Glenn Beck would not hear favorable things from me.

^^ No. It’s a sign that the apocalypse is coming.

RUN!

@MIT- I agree with you wholeheartedly. I did not like when Fox made fun of the daughters of either presidents and I did not like when Fox did the bit with the downs syndrome girl on Family Guy (which was supposed to make fun of Tripp Palin). Both sides of the aisle. Both wrong.

PS- I am not merely bashing Fox news with those examples, they are just the first 2 to come to mind.

^^ I made fun of Bush’s daughters when they were caught underage drinking v_v

^ One, they were adults (not that it makes it much better, but it does slightly since it was a decision and not merely because of their appearance, which was the case with Clinton for example). Two, you are not a national news organization.

What you do on your own time is your business. What you do publicly is a completely different matter.

That’s a poor decision on their part. However, I don’t make fun of children of presidents. Just not right. The media should do the same.

^ Can I slightly amend that statement and simply say the children of anyone? Or at least, the children of all public figures?

That’s a solid amendment.

I think DUIs should be more heavily punished.

^ Agreed. 1000% agreement.

idk - I don’t think Bush’s past should have prevented him from being president, if that’s what you’re referring to

@romani: How about “don’t harm children to advance political goals”?

@everyone: I’m not going to get into the position of defending FOX as “neutral”, since they aren’t. Nobody is, or at least the ones that are are useless. But when you list your FOX “gems” make sure you’re quoting the news, not the opinion/comedy hour.

I can agree with that. But I stick by the original one as well.

And to be fair, MM, there are many more opinion shows on Fox than not. Greta and Geraldo are the only two I can think of that are even remotely balanced on there. And you can tell even they are censored.

@romani: That is true. FOX, more than any other network, supports the opinion people who disagree with the current administration. They’re making a lot of money on it too.

But that isn’t really relevant to the quality of their news.

^ Yes, but it is indicative of the overall quality of their news station.

I find it hard to say that FOX news is unbiased.

It’s like saying you’re a moderate if you say “Obama must die”

Fox News (not the Opinion Parts) is not that biased. Most of the bias occurs during the Opinion Shows; the problem is that most of the people watching the Opinion Shows are unable to differentiate between the two.

They aren’t that biased.

Fox rips Obama and democrats because it gets them ratings. I saw a chart comparing their ratings when Bush was in office to their ratings during the Obama administration. Basically, Fox’s rating’s doubled once Obama took office.

For the record, I’m a moderate conservative. I don’t beleive in voting along party lines. I can’t stand Fox News because they’re a bunch of a#####es and have wackos like Glenn Beck on there and I don’t watch CNN either.

I get my politics from the Colbert Report and the Daily Show.

.

MSNBC is clearly in favor of the left, just as Fixed Noise is in favor of the right.

The key difference? MSNBC reports from a liberal standpoint on its core programs like Countdown and the Rachel Maddow Show. Fox outright and blatantly lies to the point where it’s no longer news. Huge difference.

I watch Olbermann every day. His Worst Person segment covers a lot of Faux News’ lies.

Example of bias/lack of bias:

FOX: Linked as a small box on the Politics->Elections main page.

CNN: Rather hard to find, was linked in a “other stories” ticker list on the politics site shortly after the event but now must be searched for.

MSNBC: Can’t even find it with a direct keyword search for Daniel Webster. After some serious google-fu I found this blog entry:
