Is GMU a good fit?

Hey!
I'm a junior in highschool right now, and was wondering about applying to GMU in the fall. Here are my stats (my school stops calculating GPA after junior year)
GPA: 3.6/3.7 weighted (hasn't been recalculated yet, but thats what I predict)
SAT: 1850 (670CR, 560M, 620W, 11 on the essay)
Honors/AP Classes: World History H, US I H, US II AP, World History AP, GOV + Politics AP, European History AP (and possibly another gov. class this summer at a local community college)
EC's: Amnesty International Club; 3 years; president, Politics club; co-founder; 2 years; president. I will also be volunteering with local political campaigns in the near future.

I want to double major in poli sci and history, so i figured GMU would be a good fit due to its location and political/historical atmosphere. I was just wondering if I would have a shot (im from NJ, by the way) at GMU.
Anything that you could tell me about GMU's political science/government or history programs would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I think you’re a great fit. You definitely have a great shot, and GMU’s political science & history programs are wonderful.

GMU’s political science program is ranked very high, and GMU is on the list for most politically active schools. You can certainly major in both fields, but there are also excellent minor opportunities for both.

Good luck

Thanks! I’ll definitely check it out!

Great news, you are 99% likely to get accepted to GMU!
GMU has got a great political science/government program and I believe their staffs are very knowledgeable. You’ll be right next to DC and all the major centers in Fairfax, VA and Mclean so you’ll have internships non-stop.
